There are not many parts in the fuel system and these are the last in the chain. I was thinking that the unused fuel is not getting back to the tank.
How about the fact that the fuel injectors must be within 3% of each other. If over 3% the engine output will drop and/or one cyliner will overheat. There is an injector volume adjustment plate on the side of the pump body.
Or one of your injection nozzels is sticking/ not fully closing.
