My wife is Catholic and I doubt she knows the third and fifth precepts of that either.
Many of her inlaws in Saigon are buddhist. Strange as it may seem, there isn't such a clear delineation between the two in Vietnam. My buddy in Bangkok was a doctor in California for twenty years and got tired of it. He now practices for the French version of Doctors Without Borders, married a Thai girl and has a son, converted from Judaism to Buddhism, lives in Bangkok, and is a party animal. It works for him.
