I agree with Sailorman, Every nautical library must contain a copy of Joshua Slocum's
"Sailing Alone Around the World"

Historical, books I've enjoyed include:

The Secret Voyage of Sir Francis Drake.....Samuel Bawlf......excellent!!
Pirate Hunter.....The true story of Captain Kidd
Over the Edge of the world .....................Laurence Bergreen.......Magellen
In the Heart of the Sea...........................Nathaniel Philbrick.......about the Whaleship Essex.
Cook..The Extraodinary Voyages of Captain Cook

Left for Dead.....Nick Ward.....a sailors own story of the 1979 fastnet race....new!

Tania Aebi....Maiden Voyage...

My old man and the sea.

Of course, Tristen Jones.

Not a sailing book....but one worth reading...." Abandon Ship" the story of the USS Indianapolis...

Happy Reading
