Re: Jabsco 37038 Solenoid vent leak

Thanks for that input Peggie. Even the brand new solenoid has moisture around the vent. I guess I was hoping it would be home dry but that's why the manual says to place it somewhere that can get...

Re: Jabsco 37038 Solenoid vent leak

Okay, to close the loop on this in case someone searches for this issue later.

I replaced the solenoid/valve assembly and now everything works.

After looking at the old one, I found the "vent...

Re: Jabsco 37038 Solenoid vent leak

This morning the toilet wouldn't fill at all so I tapped around on the solenoid/valve, pressurized/depressurized the water supply, then it started filling again (but still leaks out the vent)

The...

Re: Jabsco 37038 Solenoid vent leak

Yeah, possibly. It's just such a simple device I would think I could have seen the issue.

Re: Jabsco 37038 Solenoid vent leak

My thought as well but I noticed it today and the manual says it may leak. It's really a strange thing. The fittings have o-rings and just clip in with a little slide lock. I may just try to replace...

Jabsco 37038 Solenoid vent leak

I have an electric freshwater head that uses a Jabsco solenoid in the system.

Everytime the head is flushed freshwater drips from the vent on the solenoid. Is this normal? How much is normal?

Re: Normal Thru-Hull aging?

Our morning/night (we liveaboard) routine is to inspect the bilges, that's been slacking a bit recently but we'll pick it back up.

Re: Normal Thru-Hull aging?

I'll be honest, it really pisses me off to think about how much I spent on this vessel just to find out that the (well known) builder placed my family and my property in jeopardy. I'm currently in...

Re: Normal Thru-Hull aging?

I took a wire brush to it and it cleaned up. It's a thru hull for the generator that was just replaced under warrantee and it looks like salt water leaked from the hose. I sprayed it with corrosion x...

Re: Normal Thru-Hull aging?

The boat surveyor told me it's pretty normal for production boats. It's a 2 year old Lagoon cat.

Then he said "Personally I would recommend replacing all of the brass skin fittings and valves".

Normal Thru-Hull aging?

I'm attaching a couple photos on a Thru-Hull that I'm curious about. Unlike the other ones, this one has a bit of white chalky stuff on it. Is this an issue?

Re: Bubbles Jabsco Quiet Flush

I don't think so. The tank is completely empty and the bubbles only happen if I pump the bowel all the way down. If I hold the button just until there is a little water left in the bowl and then...

Re: Bubbles Jabsco Quiet Flush

One thing I have noticed is that if I stop the flush before the bowl is empty there are no bubbles so I'm wondering if it's the pump pulling in air.

Bubbles Jabsco Quiet Flush

I have a two year old Jabsco quiet flush toilets that bubbles a few times after flushing. It's got two buttons, one that empties and fills and the other a rocker that does both.

I was in an area...

Re: I get the helm mid June in St. Lucia...

Thanks for the info! I'm general, are there a lot of cruisers that spend the hurricane season in the Caribbean?

Re: weather routing plugin (Ubuntu) v5.0

It looks like the Polar plugin isn't in the PPA for 18.04 yet.

Would it be possible for you to upload that here as well? I really appreciate the help!

Okay, so I finally found the boat, got the offer accepted and have a closing date. The issue that I have is the timing of closing which is mid June. I've spent all of my sailing life in the Pacific...

Re: Buying from owner after working with broker?

I wanted to add (missed the edit deadline) that the broker I'm using now is busy but he is also very responsive, knowledgeable, and has the patience to work with a buyer that has no patience....

Re: Buying from owner after working with broker?

I think what happens is the seller's broker doesn't forward the offer to the seller.

I've made two offers at what the seller wants and both times they've let the offer expire.

Very...

Re: Buying from owner after working with broker?

I've moved on to a different buyer's broker. The original broker was okay about it all and just said that he's busy. Honestly, this buying process has been a bit of an eye opener. I wrongly assumed...
