Re: Keco Eco Cooler.

It's some kind of peltier cooler, and the site hides the full power draw of the unit. Most likely because it's less efficient than a typical compressor unit. Peltiers are nice for being silent, but...

Re: Marco Island to Marathon

Just made that run back at Thanksgiving. It's a bit of a haul, but not bad really. We started late afternoon so we would hit Marathon as the sun came up, turns out we went too fast and still went...

Re: Rational for a Hybrid?

A hybrid diesel only runs at the most efficient speed for the engine, regardless of what speed the throttle is set at. Given a battery bank large enough to move the boat at wake speed for long...

Re: 122volts from 4volts ac, after a small spark?

Without seeing it for myself there's no way to tell for sure what connection was made or broken where. However if an arc happened and then you could read voltage where you couldn't before, then...

Re: 122volts from 4volts ac, after a small spark?

It was probably a loose connection that was welded when the probe shorted it. Double check every connection. One of them is in a very dangerous state. If you're going to be leaving the boat, shut...

Trying to source a dinghy lift

I have been searching all over the place trying to figure out who makes this dinghy lift.

Re: Leaking PEX valve push fitting

If you're removing a fitting every year, stop doing that. Put in a T with a valve on one leg. Just because you can remove a pex fitting, doesn't mean you should. Liquid and gas fittings require...

Re: New Desalination Technology on the Horizon

Because there is almost always a years to decades long delay between 'Look at this cool new tech' articles, and actually being able to buy the tech in a store. Especially anything to do with...
