Yes! For a while the lovely First Caribbean Bank had programmed their ATM to eat foreign cards! Dealing with any Bahamian bank is an experience, to say the least!

Sorry but a 4-5% charge for using a credit card is very common. ATMs are a rare thing and one that works even more rare. Some banks will give you cash advances on credit cards but they charge a fee....

Staying on a dock in a major storm is NUTS! If you have the opportunity stuff the boat in the mangroves or get on a secure mooring. The last thing you want to do is be in the middle of a crowd.

Many of the creeks in Md. have no bottom, the water just get thicker as you go deeper!
Not a lot that can be don unless you have a crazy heavy anchor.
