I have a Wallas 40DT and the easiest solution for me when I got rid of my large bottom feed steel tanks and went to poly tanks, was to get a discarded 2.5 gallon outboard oil jug, and drill a tiny...

Re: Powerboater Mental Health

I have owned as many sailboats as powerboats...I just currently live on something that doesn't remind me...

Re: Powerboater Mental Health

Re: Using Towlines as Jacklines?

Nylon doesn't hold up to UV?

Better check all those docklines, anchor rodes, towboat towlines, etc...that sit in the sun all year.

Maybe not all nylon is UV resistant...but marine grade...

Re: From NYC, NY to Houston Texas

Because the NJ intracoastal is out due to mast height...the big decision is getting beat up in the Chessie for a several days to a week...and the trounblesome, plan the current Delaware...or continue...

Re: From NYC, NY to Houston Texas

The toughest decision will be to go the Chesapeake to Norfolk or outside to there.

The Dec 7th departure makes short travelling (stopping every night) tough due to short weather windows.

The...

Re: Creative way to dredge to icw

Are they dredging or just going to the travel lift?

Moving through mud/soft sand is way different than moving it far enough to have a slip and channel for your personal boat like the OP is...

Re: Creative way to dredge to icw

I used to work for a company that blew out slips using propwash....not all that easy to do without strong currents in the area...and just pushing it to a neighbors slip that would now have to be done...

I agree...have been in the salvage business for 13 years/USCG 23 years and never had or heard of a boat sinking from the fresh water hose....though I am sure there are some.

I had a run for 2...
