Hi again Tim, Yes still in Hawaii but getting ready to move. I just sent off all the charts I had that covered the area from the Columbia River and north to Chris. 18421 and 18460 were duplicates...

C'mon Cruisers,

I don't want to throw these out. They make excellent wrapping paper for nautical gifts.

Re: 4 or 5 Knots to know?

Thanks Stu

When I was being told I was a Seaman Apprentice on my first ship and of course they were trying to be authoritative and making the message simple. Sometimes they didn't cuff you at the...

Re: 4 or 5 Knots to know?

Back on my first Destroyer in '63 I was taught that the proper term for what you called a rope is line. Rope in the Navy is wire.

The most basic knots. Cleat hitch, Bowline, Round turn with two...

Re: Paper Nautical Charts of the US West Coast

They're all boxed up and ready to go. There will be two boxes since some of the charts were a bit thicker paper and larger. That's ok. Still the same price for you.

Re: Refitting Hozho or "in over my head"

I think another thing to consider is the rest of your rigging. If your rigging at the aft lowers is extended to its limits and your masts are forward of vertical you may need to rethink and go with...

Re: Refitting Hozho or "in over my head"

If you have a Mariner I have some extra booms and a mizzen mast for it. Just have to figure out how to ship from Hawaii.

Re: Refitting Hozho or "in over my head"

I like your diagrams. I would go with option 2 with spacers under the sprit to your Samson post or build up the deck with glass or glass over ply if you want your sprit to be flush on the deck. ...

Re: Oh no! I've got Barnacles on my Dink!

Better to have barnacles than lesions.

I don't know if they've developed a bottom paint for inflatables but I'd certainly look into it. I used to use bottom paint on all my fiberglass dinks in...

Re: Paper Nautical Charts of the US West Coast

If my memory serves me I had another CF on svKLOOSH who was also looking for them back in 2007. I can't remember if I sold them to him or if I didn't have them then either.

Good luck in finding...

Re: Paper Nautical Charts of the US West Coast

I'm looking at 18524 just now and it is the Columbia River from Portland/Vancouver to St. Helens. I set it aside because I was thinking of canoeing the Multnomah Channel.

kind regards,
