Re: Do You Dump Your Trash Over Board?

Re: Do You Dump Your Trash Over Board?

Metal in the Great Lakes lasts nearly as long as plastic. 100 year old boiler discovered in Superior looked OK to light. Its permitted to send your grey water but when we do dishes, we wipe them...

Great photos!!

ONCE MORE.

SS does not belong between an iron anchor & Chain.

SS has a lower yield point than Crosby or other proper steel & galv. shackles.

One thing is clear, you have a leak. culprits can be any of the seals on the Racor, the pick up tube, the hose, any other device in-between including fittings or the seals on the 3-way ball valve. ...

Re: Do You Dump Your Trash Over Board?

We cruised on Lake Cumberland 45-50 years ago (wow). In those days, the head was a direct pump-out & that gave us the creeps. We collected and hauled everything for the week(s). Now, mandatory...

Re: Suggestions for Hard Dodger Construction Please

We$t is not a no-blush epoxy. subsequent coats may not be as well bonded as you think. I have used many name brand epoxies and will never switch back. The ease of 635 THIN is far ahead of all...

Re: When is a Captain not a Captain?

Skipper is OK but is informal and rather implies that you are the driver. The CG and others will always refer to the person in command of the vessel as captain. You may think that pretentious,...

Re: Suggestions for Hard Dodger Construction Please

I mentioned my favorite resin near the beginning of this thread. US Composites 635 THIN epoxy. It is a very slow cure, no blush resin designed for maximum wet out of your fiber. I used it with 3M...

Re: Docking a Full Keel Heavy Displacement Sailboat

Re: When is a Captain not a Captain?

Master; commander; skipper, captain - whatever. Just remember, there are lots of people referred to as 'Captain'. Proper uniforms may be a help when checking in to to foreign ports.

Re: Westerbeke Engine Oil Drain Plug

Agree with you. This is no different than all cars. No safety wire on my vehicle oil pans. I wonder if the 'new' engine had a maker's alert tag wired to the plug? Paper tag now long gone.

Re: Deck Core Soft Spot? -a Low Budget Amateur Repair

Re: Owner refuses to pay crew, need advice

Is it a documented vessel? If so, I believe you can have a lien applied. Contact CG vessel documentation and ask for help. The cost should be low but the hassle to the owner will be relentless.
