He'd do well to attach some pictures. The price is probably high for unassembled/ needing trailers etc...
Wood boats are already a challenging sale in a plastic world.

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
Sure, good to see you sailing and trying things out. You might want to keep them. On my tri I use a center tackle for the main sheet and run a guy to each ama from the boom and lead them back to the...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
So if that is a single line mainsheet adjustable from either side leaving it set would give the same boom position on each tack. If it is 2 separate sheets you will have to adjust it each tack.

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
Normally a Cross 24 would have a keel, if this one has a board using some would help.
I couldn't really tell from the video how the mainsheet is rigged,.can you take.a.picture showing the layout?...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
Also.... A masthead Spinnaker with your lightened boat and square top main should be thought of as a light air sail only. I think you'll find that big main has plenty of pull, downwind tacking should...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
I was actually thinking of the outboard side of the ama where the folding beam ends to give you more range of motion for the boom, what your folding beam can take is up to you to determine as you...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
Well look for the halyard and block, a chute needs lots of room for.motion so the block is usually on a extension/crane to clear the jib halyard and forestay. It can be either above the forestay or...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
Yes you can add a tang to the mast, check up on fractional rig convention for location, if you plan on running a masthead chute think about that, where the forestay lands is good, if the column is...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
I'm deference to Phil..... There are plenty of times I use drywall screws as temporary "clamps" till the epoxy sets.
Unless of course it needs bronze ring nails for extra deep fiber holding power.

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
I'll disagree Phil in some cases. Yes you can do it without nails.... The but.... is in large impacts and decay. I've fixed enough boats to see that the nails held in impacts and in boats with decay....

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
I noticed I gave the ama skin estimate for the set. One ama would be about 4 sheets of 1/4". Both for and Meranti come in at about 36 pounds per cubic foot density.

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
Make sure you don't use hemlock for the stringers or frames, not rot resistant at all. You can sometimes find decent grain in the Doug Fir 2x stacks at Lowe's for recutting if you want to skip...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
I've actually been wondering about the repaired ama. Were stringers used and if not was thicker ply substituted? If so you might consider making a set of amas if weight and shape between the 2 is a...

You can get Marine fir at Hardell on the West side of oly, it is great but pricey. Meranti is about the same weight as fir and similar rot resistant. Okoume is light but needs careful coating as it...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners
We did sail into Canada, you have to be at least this far away from the Nicol for the paint to look presentable. Brought back a list of things to do, lots done on the way there and back again....
