I spent a couple of happy weeks in that area this summer as well. Simple stuff if you bother to work out the tides. |

Dont try sailing around the Cherbourg peninsular or through the Pentland Firth where tides can be expected to be at least 7 kts, and in certain areas can reach 11 kts. SOG is usefull, but so is... |
