The RT-N16 works well for me, the choice was largely based on something that used 12v (I use a stabilised supply off the domestic system) and that had enough RAM to include OpenVPN in the firmware...

In theory 11n runs at just under 3x the speed of 11g but that article emphasises that theres more to it than just throughput. Some more research into broadcast and multicast technique...
