Re: Importing a Boat to Australia
Just an update here: In the middle of registering my boat in Australia while it is in Mexico. I had read Mark J's 3 months experience doing this... and was bummed at having to wait it out on a... |

Re: Importing a Boat to Australia

Re: Importing a Boat to Australia
Comparing power boat prices in the US to power boat prices in Oz is much more on track than comparing power boat to sailboat prices in this thread... sorry but they're already talking abut shutting... |

Re: Importing a Boat to Australia
I have found that there isn't that many 120 volt appliances on the boats I am after here in North America. I plan to leave these appliances as 120 volts (run off of an inverter) and the majority of... |

Re: Importing a Boat to Australia
I've plugged about a dozen boats that I've looked at here in the US into Dennis's spreadsheet (and also against my own research for the website) and there is significant savings of around 40%-50% on... |

Thanks for the insight savoir. As I am in the US right now, I might try to get some extra cash out in the next few days :) |

Re: Importing a Boat to Australia
Great! It's an excellent exercise and will help out a lot of folks who are curious about the reality of import costs. When you are finished, may I post it up on my non-commercial info site? With all... |

Re: Importing a Boat to Australia
I never really thought about buying a used boat at a marine auction. From this post it sounds as though deals could be had (if people were willing to do some re-fit). Has anyone here purchased their... |
