Add a solid state compass to your transponders.
only a few dollars of parts and a bit of software.
Output it like you do with the GPS.

I have finally installed an external alarm and started using the Anchor Watch alarm on my XB8000.

It is a great tool. Nice to have anchor watch and AIS running with only minimal current drain.

I am trying to get 10HZ NMEA0183 fast heading data from my Raymarine S3G autopilot onto my NMEA2000 bus using the VesperXB-8000.

After a bit of research, it seems it can be done, but not with high accuracy.

Would be a nice feature to have a built in NTP server in the XB8000 if that is possible ?

I now have Navigation data from my computer (running OpenCPN) displayed on my NMEA2000 instruments.

The cable will plug into the NMEA2000 backbone OK, but Raymarine connectors are different for spurs and backbone, the conversion cable only plugs into a Raymarine spur. The converter is a mini...

I have an s3G autopilot and seatalk 1 to seatalk ng converter as well as a Vesper XB-8000 and Garmin Nmea2000 sailing instruments.

The seatalk ng to devicenet cables only fit into the spur sockets...

Is the API you mention to control the transponder or to allow access to NMEA2000 data ?

I think it is the latter that would most interesting. Adding new translations from 0183<->2000 is great,...
