Windows has the ability to turn off power to USB Ports and Bluetooth Radios. This will cause problems when you try to use GPS with OpenCPN.

The cure-

Control Panel>Device Manager>Bluetooth...

Probably not doing anything wrong. It looks more like 11553-1 didn't load properly. I would try to download this file again.

Do you have opengl checked in tools>charts>advanced?

Use a gpx editor/convertor like G7toWin(have used a lot but not recently), or GPX Editor(I haven't used this one) or even a text editor like notepad.

You can change the display of depths a bit by going to Options>Charts>Vector Charts

Toward the bottom of the pafe are Shallow Depth, Safety Depth, and Deep Depth.

Depths less than Safety Depth...
