Im in a similar situation. My old iPods are getting flaky and the only direct replacement is another old iPod off eBay. I'm migrating to a basic no-name Android 7" tablet. Just loaded all our tunes...

Would be nice to have a single player that did it all with APIs into services like Pandora, Sirius, iTunes...and would play local music files too.

Any app developers reading along?

Storage densities these days are mind boggling. I remember getting an early 5MB (yep, MB ) disk drive in the lab. It was the size of a microwave oven!

You could use an FM Transmitter. Inexpensive and will broadcast any audio input via a weak FM signal. Then just tune your radio to it...does it still have a dial? ;-)

Or, take it by a good...

I agree iTunes is pretty good, I got tired of its limitations for managing multiple libraries/devices after losing it all a few times. Got a set of utilities called CopyTrans that allow you to manage...

I still have a couple of 20GB iPod "classics". They work fine, but there are some very good player apps available now for Android and even app based equalizers etc. I just picked you a cheap no name...
