For races 7 and 8 the winds were light enough that they used Code 0 gennakers to go downwind. John |

Yeah, the link I posted earlier shows that they are sailing downwind at an apparent wind angle of around 25 degrees. My Cal 40 sails upwind with an apparent wind angle of around 30 degrees. They're... |

This was posted over at SA. He also had spreadsheets of the data linked there. Hard for me to read on the graphs but the AWA for both upwind and downwind look to be between 20-25 degrees. Upwind... |

For those that wish for the good old days or 12s or IACC, fine if you like 12s and not cats your personal choice, but to say they're better or more like real boats is wrong. IACC had a 25 knot... |
