Nope - thats not what it says. 12 Volt wiring is ELV (Extra Low Voltage) feel free to deal with ELV yourself.

Not new - current act is 2002, previous act had broadly similar provisions and BTW Hoppy - A quick check of the Victorian legislation shows broadly similar effect.

Dont be tempted to change any wiring yourself, most states (not sure about WA) have quite strict rules on only having qualified people working on AC. So your options are a professional rewire, or...

Depends where the boat was manufactured. Buying something in the states is not an immediate avoider of duty.

Thanks for that - Two shoes was always going to be harder to move (no reflection on the boat - just the production Vs custom thing) but a perry 43 is usually worth at least a bid I would have thought?
