In the case of the sandblasting of my FC hull, the worst problem was that there were hundreds of small bubbles in the original epoxy sealant. Between the bubbles the coating was perfect and strong....

One objection to sandblasting is that it tends to accentuate small, insignificant superficial cracks. I have seen this on my hull. I don't think it has caused a problem, but I will not sandblast...
