I'm guessing that maybe the electric fuel pump is only wired to the ignition switch that works? Maybe both switches need to be on to run from the other location?

-Make sure any fuel valve is open.
-Do not crank more than maybe 15 seconds at a time (your starter cable may melt!)
-If you crank too much without starting, you may fill your exhaust with water...
