As a side note, in SA fórums are discusing some ideas about how to implement reléase devices in winches to dump the sails in a fuzz in case of a fliping scenario... and i dont know why this things... |

You can move the traveler outboard and still get some grip in the sails, or just let the sails flog a bit until dinner is done..:biggrin: |

25000 pounds and a 78 ft tall spar, that's a beast mast ,, I try to found where the 2 reef in the mainsail is placed... I don't blame the design not even the crew but quite frankly this particular... |

Yes I guess its for windward work but Lagoons don't sail to weather quite well , then you have a beam reach and seriously I believe is a lot of sail for that wind speed...:thumb: |

The Lagoon reefing sails chart is quite funny, and last time I sail a Lagoon we get caught in squally weather from Canarie islands to Martinique , at 30 knts sustained gusting 38 under bare poles... |
