Re: Best auxiliary power for a 34' Searunner Trimaran?

I had a Searunner 34 with the engine mounted in the center just below the companionway stairs. I put a Beta 20 motor in with good results. The only downside was the length of the motor was tricky to...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

Sounds like out the bottom is a bit easier.

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

Hello All,

Does anyone know if its possible go drop the swing keel out the bottom of a Searunner 34? It looks like it would work, but rumor has it that it goes out the top only. I've seen one...

Question Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

Hello fellow sufferers of "SeaRunner Syndrome", last summer I replaced a somewhat dodgy marinized Kubota tractor motor in my Searunner 34 with a shiny new shallow sump Beta 20 (also a Kubota) engine....

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

My knees hurt just looking at the picture. I really like the process of trying to wiggle backwards out of the hulls, once you've climbed way in. Very claustrophobic.

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

Hello All,
In the continuing saga of "Why West System boats like Searunner 34's should not have deck penetrations", I'm removing a set of large deck mounted quick release lever arms and cheek plates...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

Jon,

It's a PSS shaft seal. I've got a system that's sort of a combination of vent and hose. I've got a vacuum breakers line that has a tee off way above the water line to the PSS feed. When the...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

Nice installation. I'd never seen pictures of the "standard" engine location.

I just put a Beta 20 in. I've got the engine in the aft cabin under the companionway. Makes getting to the water pump...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

Hi All,

Thanks for all the responses. I'll give the feathering prop a try, and leave the rudder alone. I've got a 20Hp kubota engine, so the reversing should be pretty good.

The pile moorings...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

Hello all,

I've got a Searunner 34 with a pretty good sized doghouse. The doghouse is great from a comfort point of view, but not so great for windage effects. Between windage, and getting pushed...

Notes on the center board on the 34.
The leaking fixture I have is the hinge. I dug out some drawings and yeah verily, there's the pin. The previous owner mentioned he had dropped the board out the...

Thanks JMolan and Roy M.

I should have been more descriptive, these are WAY down low, below the hinge pin, only about 40CM up from the keel. They are even worse to get to than the Hinge pin. Must...

Question Searunner 34 through hulls

I've got a trivia question. I've got a Searunner 34 tri. It's got two through hull fittings about 13mm dia buried deep down at near the bottom of the trunk holding the swing keel, roughly below the...
