Mark, you're right. In fact, it is so simple and obvious to create an iTunes account without using a credit card, that Apple had to create a support page telling people how to do it. ...

I prefer the Passport drives for music the same reason, but went for a 4GB for video. Of course just to be perverse, apparently the TV won't see a partition over 2GB in size. (sigh).
