Mariners were made in New Hampshire and were very well made. When Ted Hood closed Little Harbor down In Marblehead many of his woodworkers went to Mariner for work and they did top notch work.

The description seems a little over the top. Needs a ton of work and possibly a new engine. Wouldn't buy it without a full inspection.

Having sailed on that model and similar you need to get used to life at a 25 degree tilt. No form stability, all in the keel.

Never understood why people would varnish cockpit seats. It turns them into skating rinks.

Me too just a little. Not what I am currently looking for but having sailed folkboats I can say that was a great deal even if you had some work to do.

IMHO, Columbia's were not that well made. They were okay but nothing to write home about. For some reason their reputation has gained undue affection on sites like these.
