I totally agree with you on this. I for 1 will never put a transmitter on my boat (in my car or a chip under my skin ) unleds i can figure out how to anonymise it. I would love to have a transmission...

You don't need to be transmitting while you're at the doc totally understandable if you want to leave the receiver on see what's going on leaving the receiver on doesn't leave your signature on...

Do you have any links that explain how satellites track AIS i was under the impression that AIS was a v_h_f requency and I don't see how that's going to communicate with a satellite
