Fin keels and spade rudders will back up the best and they are generally the faster ones going forward too. Catalinas are fin keel/spade rudder boats. My boat has a long keel and rudder attached to... |

Catalina 27 is also a safe choice for a first boat. Resale value is good. Sails well, pretty roomy for a 27. |
