I'm pretty sure the Leopard's skipper has excellent spatial orientation skills, as he is/was a commercial pilot.

How would you navigate to stay in the 2000m waters? I don't have anything onboard that reliably will measure 200m depths, and that's with two depth sounders.

The Navionics display seems pretty poor, even though the underlying data appears correct. Since these are vector charts how they display is up to the chart plotter software. Using blue as drying...

How will you be cross referencing with paper and pencil? Using even older paper charts than the electronic ones, often on a completely different datum, isn't going to help a lot.

Sure, there are lots of Sat image files floating around. SasPlanet let's you look at multiple sources. Some areas are not covered or not covered well. North Minerva Reef shows up in detail on Google...
