Re: Rig and Sails
Bob, Just use some 10 or 12 inches of duct tape of reasonable quality, the type with cloth in it. Stick the 2 lines on it in the duct tape's length, with the ends just touching, wrap the duct tape... |

Re: Rig and Sails
What about some alternatives? Don't know about your situation, but it Is a nice sail from La Rochelle to Panama and then up American west coast. Might take some time though. Or: purchase the boat... |

Re: Rig and Sails
I would recommend a hydranet radial sail. More expensive but keeps its shape much longer than dacron. Hydranet is a woven sail, made of a dacron/dyneema mix; it does not haven the disadvantages of... |

Parasailor
Mark, The maximum windspeed for the FP Spifurl is 15 knots apparent wind. This will be 20-25 knots of true wind. I have used it up to 25 knots of wind straight downwind in butterfly configuration... |

Sailchute
With the high chance of getting the sailchute in the water when bringing it down, it seems to me to be an accident waiting to happen. In the Youtube video, it looked as if they were giving... |

Z-Spars furler: Furling line wear
Hi all, In the past 3 years we have had two instances of the furling line wearing through and breaking. I have previously assumed that the wear was due to the front block, or was due to the line... |

Length of reefing line
Wayward wind, Officially it's 18, actually 19 is better. But I would add 2 * 1.5 meters to cut off two times, the end is wearing fast if you're sailing reefed regularly. |

Re: Rig and Sails
Michael, It is not a good construction, that is true. Could you please explain this to Fountaine Pajot? But I do not think they will spend the money to improve this point. The halyard does tend to... |

Rigging a continuous line furler
Martin, We have the original FP Spifurl with the Facnor FX2500 furler. We use it a lot. I would suggest that you initially use the most basic system possible, which is what we have. This will cost... |
