Yes.

When the GPS is plugged in there should be a drop-down of COMM ports. I'm not a Mac guy, but there should be the equivalent of a Device Manager so you can see if the computer recognizes...

I can't read the screen shot, but have you selected the proper port? Tools/Options/Add connection then find the proper USB port
