Years ago I chartered a Bavaria 37 and headed off from Turgutreis along the turkish coast towards Dalyan. The anchor looked like a knock off Bugel and led to some of the worst anchoring experiences...

I have a fob light on my 30ft cat. I've never used it in anger but the other week I decided to rinse it off as it had been sitting in the aft locker gathering dust. The rode / cable is lead ballasted...

It used to be very popular.

I woke up in the middle of the night to find someone had mistaken my anchor buoy with tripping line attached for a mooring buoy. :facepalm:

That cured the habit.

I wish I'd had a camera when I was using a CQR. Blessed thing always lay on it's side and unless the holding was perfect it was pretty useless. Worked fine in the Solent where there was thick cloying...
