Own a Seawind 1000 myself and use it for a day charter business. Fits my purposes well. But I think the most outstanding differences between Seawinds and Mainecats is mini keels verses dagger boards....

As a rule the fuel prices are cheaper in NJ. I would top off at the one of two New Jersey State Marinas on the west bank of the Hudson River just north of the GW before continuing north.

White's Hudson River Marina New Hamburg, NY (About 6 miles north of the Newburgh Beacon bridge on the east side) is a full service Marina. They can also drop the mast for you.
