I think on the NortWind 47 it is not the sliders that make it difficult to move, there is not enough bottom/top room in the "garage".

On a boat the gearbox cooler is normaly below waterlevel, so suction is normaly not a problem.

I allway wonder why most diesel-installations have the filters at the suction side, every leak sucs...

From 1979 to 2014 the boat was 3 months a year on salt water with brass valves. There was not a sign of corrosion/ desincification.
