This info confirms the lag method for me. I'm going to use 1/2 x 12 silicon bronze lags, in 2 pairs, installed thru a 1/4" bronze plate running athwart the bilge (set in an epoxy levelling bed) ... |

I'm considering the counterbore method - but, for the life of me, can't figure out how to accurately align the bolt holes with the side-bores - seems really easy to make a huge mess of bores and... |

I need to sister some 1/2 x 12" lags into my lead keel Capri 22. 12" is a long way to go (6 holes!) Anyone know how? What size / type of bit? Do I go root size for the thread length, then... |
