The reason to change the registration is south african registration is very strict for off shore cruising, the vessel has to be inspected yearly by a south african maritime approved surveyor for...

current plan is to cruise for the next 3 - 4 years and then sell the boat, so basically boat will not be kept anywhere permanent

Thanks again for all the suggestions, yes all is new, mast sails rigging etc, sail has only been raised 3 times, sail maker says change the slides to harken type cars
Soon as the wind stops blowing...

Thanks for all the suggestions, some other info ,the halyard is a 1:1, there are 7 battens. Maybe with the 7 battens I am getting too much friction on the slides, its very difficult to raise the main...
