Re: Hydronic heating. cabin/water
Simply put; neither idea is viable. The Eberspacher is a closed loop and works fine. |

Re: Hydronic heating. cabin/water
Hi Fendell, Most elements are say 1KW. My Dual Coil Calorifier had the option and so I went with the 3KW. This element is just to heat the hot water clarifier and so there is no way of using it in... |

Re: Lagoon Escape Hatches Falling Out
I just had my life raft, that I thought was very secure, ripped out by the sea and lost. I have no doubt that a lose escape hatch resting on these brackets would leak severely and most likely work... |

Re: Lagoon Escape Hatches Falling Out
Is it job done or a cheap and risky fix? Surely removal of the windows and re seal or glue properly should be paid for by Lagoon? If the glue lets go and we have the temporary fix what then? Severe... |

Re: Lagoon Escape Hatches Falling Out
OK, it is not too fancy. 18mm plywood with screws pre-installed around the edges, window draft stick on sealant, and a good screwdriver kept next to it. For the L450 the window holes are square 44cm... |

Re: Lagoon Escape Hatches Falling Out
My hatches, 7 years old, look excellent. I wonder if they can just drop out with no warning? I have made up hatch covers for quick install until the kit arrives and is installed. |

Lagoon Escape Hatches Falling Out
Spotted on a Lagoon Facebook forum. Sounds very serious and dangerous. Anyone know more? 190014190015 |

Bilge gulper intake NRV seized closed!
I love my Lagoon but seriously bad of the manufacturers to put soft steel attachments in the bilge. Dangerous use of metal fixtures because I have discovered that the gulper pump intake's non return... |

Re: Is there an easy way to attach a furler to the bowsprit
Thanks. Yep there is too much strain and wear if I use the spinlock so only do so temporarily otherwise lock the rope on the cleat. I have the “AnchorRescue” system to recover the anchor if stuck... |

Flybridge, maybe not that bad
Certainly the higher boom on the F makes sail handling harder. I went with Leisure Furl which would be great on either the F or S but expensive. No need to leave the flybridge to raise, reef or lower... |

Re: Flybridge, maybe not that bad
Love the flybridge. The notion of a disconnect is a bit odd and just maybe it is a nice choice for one or two people to have that time out? Best place by far to feel safe and in control in serious... |

Wingaker vs. Parasailor
I am also very happy with the Wingaker 168m2 for our Lagoon 450. See quite a few of my videos on YouTube for the set up. Wind range 5-20kts, 130-180 degrees for us. Very stable but like any spinnaker... |

Re: Just signed on a new 450s!
The Doyle’s riggers here in Auckland arranged them for me. Do you have time to have them made here and couriered? If so PM me for contact details. |

Yep, I think definitely consider if you want to risk the polyester masthead sheaves. https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f139/l450-mast-sheave-replacement-177881.html#post2332735 |

Re: 2 reefing points or 3 ?
Wow sometimes I am not sure if some of the comments here can be for real. The ocean is to be respected with the right equipment. Flying storm sails verses reefing or not having reefing points adds... |

Re: 2 reefing points or 3 ?
Done that off Minerva Reef. Very easy. We turn to about 40 deg to the 5m waves and roll the main down. Sail shape is always the same as full main at any reef setting. |
