Re: Converting Delco 28Si to external regulation

I got mine from Rod Collins but that path may be closed.

You should be able to source one from an alternator rebuilding shop in your area.

As I recall it is a K6 pulley.

Re: Are Grills Worth The Trouble?

+ 1 here. We have a Sea-B-Que and it works better in the wind than any other I've used.

Another plus is that Dickinson is a very responsive company.

Hi All,

I have 4 used ThunderSky / Balquon / Winston LiFePO4 cells for sale.

These cells have been in the boat since 2014 and were B grade when I bought them. They tested out at about 480 AH...

Funny you should ask. I just pulled my entire Mark 1 off the boat. It is for sale.

How many do you need? Anything else?

Re: Bifacial 405W Monocrystalline Solar Panel

$279 for 405 watt LG Bifacial does not appear to be 3 times. Sounds like time to update some knowledge.

Re: Best Time to Beat Up West Coast (California)?

Google "Baja Bash" for many viewpoints. Read "The Baja Bash" written by Jim Elfers.

Some just sail to Hawaii and then return to the mainland.

Thanks, 9 day auction. We will see what else pops up and bid at the last moment if it works that way.

Sta-Lok 3/8" insulators (qty 2) (USA)

WTB - Sta-Lok 3/8" insulators (qty 2). Talk about hen's teeth. There is a world wide shortage of various Sta-Lok parts. I'm trying to but a backstay antenna as part of my re-rig. No Sta-Lok 3/8"...

Re: Surprising results with a spill-over fridge.

Interesting - My fridge side is consistently below freezing. The freezer and fridge are insulated to R30 on all sides and the divider between them is R10 (2" XPS) with a 75mm hole and a fan that (if...

Re: Filling Bottom of Anchor Locker

A prior boat of mine had a dorade fitted into the anchor locker. It always faced aft.

Re: Converting Delco 28Si to external regulation

As a side note I had my Balmar 91-100 rebuilt and fit with a serpentine pulley. With a shorter belt it will fit the engine as a spare in case my 28Si ever fails. Low amps it batter than no amps.

Re: I upgraded my anchor on SV Satire

Damn, I wish I knew about the Viking upgrade before buying that new fangled anchor. I like to stay with the tried and true. Evolution not revolution.

I upgraded my anchor on SV Satire

Wow what an upgrade. I am now able to anchor with less scope and still have holding...

Re: Converting Delco 28Si to external regulation

I used standard Ancor ring connectors as I recall. I did use 14 gauge wire. The stator pulse for the tach has almost no current so 18 gauge wire is fine. The field current can be 6 to 10 amps or so...
