4G hotspot booster advice
Hello,
I have a Verizon 4g jetpack on my 35' Cruisers. Speeds are not very good with it at the marina I'm at. 2-3 mbps is about all I get.
I've heard there are boosters I can get to make the...

Raymarine RL80C plus upgrade suggestions
I bought a 2002 Cruisers 3572 that has an rl80c plus in the dash. The guys at the marina said don't bother trying to update the maps or software on it because it's too old. I do like the idea of...

Re: cal 34 paint and varnish questions.
Yes. I had it until last year. I'm surprised it was sold again. The guy seemed pretty excited about it. Stop by Great Lakes Glass in Green Bay someday. I've still got the jib pole you can have.

How large was the area of delam? Was the core dry? Any guess as to why it happened in the first place?

Re: cal 34 paint and varnish questions.
The top is all Interlux. The sides are the same. The entire bottom had an epoxy coat applied before the Racing Bronze bottom paint. The interior varnish was all Epiphanes and sprayed on so no...

Re: Cruisers Yacht hull delamination advice appreciated
No, I'd estimate 25% of the hull below the waterline is affected. I thought the beauty of fiberglass boats were that most issues can be corrected. I'm looking at it as a way for someone who can't...

Re: Cruisers Yacht hull delamination advice appreciated
Correct. That's exactly what we did. The percussive soundings showed separation but didn't sound like the dull thud of wet or rotten core. Moisture meter around the affected area backed up these...

Re: Cruisers Yacht hull delamination advice appreciated
I agree. We could clearly see the different readings in different areas. I don't put much importance in the number itself but give more weight to how the readings relate to each other.

I contacted West Systems tech line. They said the same thing that injection may work. They suggested ketchup consistency and a warm shop.
I think it would be prudent to try it on one section to...

Re: Cruisers Yacht hull delamination advice appreciated
I don't have that info. Professional surveyor , it was yellow, I think he said it was about $600. I watched him check the calibration before the survey. He didn't seem too concerned about the 16%...

Re: Cruisers Yacht hull delamination advice appreciated
Moisture readings overall are 6-8%. These are over the Some isolated areas are 14-16% I assume in those areas the core will need to be dried or replaced if needed. I think replacing large...

Re: Cruisers Yacht hull delamination advice appreciated
The sales price of the boat was at a significant discount. The motors are less than 400 hrs each. The rest of the boat checked out OK.
We thought about going at it from the inside but since the...

Thanks Ozsailer, looks like a lot of information. I'm hoping to use the same skins that came off, assuming I can get them off in decent shape.

Re: Cruisers Yacht hull delamination advice appreciated
I haven't got pics yet. I haven't started the work yet. Right now, it looks like a normal boat. On a survey, the percussive soundings showed the delam. That's how the owner found out about it.

Re: 1969 Cal 34-Is this water damage or just cosmetic?
I have a 1967 Cal 34 (Hull 19) and it's a really sweet boat! I agree with your assesment. I spent about 600 hrs and a total cash investment of about $9000 including buying the boat itself. Mine's...
