if your block hole is 1/8 female then a standard grease gun hose will work just dandy, rated way way above whatever pressure your engine is likely to put out and easy availability

ok first remove starter with wiring in place if possible and tie/ restrain it then try hitting the start button again, no go and you're halfway to getting it out, if it does run then there is a sort...

the bog standard 2QM20 30 amp internally regulated altenator has 3 connections, 1 positive, 1 negative and one WL or warning light, the warning light is used to "excite" the altenator into working ....

great longevity from the DV series, surprisingly small oil capacity, chewy ring gear on the front which in the good old days chewed out more than a few refrigeration gauge hoses if not careful,...

i have a 2QM20F that is in pretty good nick for its age, gave it a coat of paint to dolly it up (white so any leaks' show) bench ran it and worked a charm.....for a while... then did the most...

i use "back of the cam method", identify intake and exhaust valve, when intake has just closed set exhaust, when exhaust has just begun to open set intake, TDC not required,

ok.... heard enough.... go read the label on your WD40 or CRC can re propellant....each has roughly 3 times total fridge charge inside..... and as we know most boats have 1..2...3..4 or more cans on...

does anyone know why these engines crack cylinder heads? have the 4valve heads on turbo intercooled engines x2 and so far have 4 cracked heads. Have replaced 2 heads thus far with 2 more to source...

how long since you last ran it prior to this startup ?, try running your finger below the shaft and see if you pick up oil.... if so chances are a shaft seal leak, all open drive compressors suffer...

as an aside here, if you have a sense of humor/ love of the ridiculous / real wish to ruin your engine then just block off the crankcase breather and stand back while you run it, in time it'll eject...

had a fair amount of success by popping a solenoid valve between the suction and discharge on the compressor with a 5 second timer to allow the comp to get up to speed and over the startup "hump"...

sorry for taking a while to reply here.....life happens.., the oil pressure valve has been out and cleaned and it is the same style as a 3QM one with the screw in retainer, what happens is that...

ok I have on of these beasts and it's a beaut, except for.....(always has to be some effing thing right)... yanmar, In their wisdom has decided a select few bits for the 2QM as well as the 3QM...

for those absorbtion units the quick fix for them is to disconnect, remove from boat, remove door and shelves, turn upside down and shake the living crap out of it, works surprisingly well remixing...

in the manual all the specs are there for the bolt pattern etc for the front pulley, you may well need to remount the altenator to double belt it though
