Re: Fixed window replacement - Dow 795 still the sealant of choice?
Because leaks are timeless, otherwise they would have dissappeared long ago. Generally, with time, you leak more often , from multiple sources, a curmudgeon once informed me.
As for toughening, I...

No, created a rebate in the mold so window was flush. We found deck mold in a paddock so was easy to do during its refurbishment.

Re: 2P4S vs 4S2P, and paralleling question
In practice this will never happen with common bus unless you have some bad connections or bad cell. Your two 4S banks should be isolatable with switches see pic previous.
In any case, the bms for...

Yep, just bought another BMV712 to give me one on each 4S. Thanks!
It was not optimum with one on the 4S's paralleled.

Re: 2P4S vs 4S2P, and paralleling question
At a cellular level I have to agree. So no gain except for being able to isolate half the 4s and maintain power to critical devices. You could always switch over to start battery, but that should be...

Yip, Being able to turn half the bank off was the decider for me.

Re: 2P4S vs 4S2P, and paralleling question
Doing that hasn't worked in practise with my setup of 4s2p, 2x bms's.
One battery charges/discharges quicker than other but as it is it works in my favour as I get an early warning before audible...

If you have lowers (Shrouds, fore and aft ) , can you rig a baby stay to the mast at the spreaders for heavy weather? Or would this induce pumping?

Re: Victron bmv712 HV/LV SOC alarm…..
Thanks Warren, but I was hoping to use the onboard buzzer for pre audible warning and relay for final disconnect. I’m just kinda a bit annoyed they didn’t cater for oldies,;it’s working ok.
