Re: Chain versus rope scope?

I am not the best person to answer this...
But, the weight of the chain helps hold the anchor down to "bite" at the correct angle. Not having any chain will make it difficult for the anchor to stay...

Re: lost sailor found

Happy ending to this story. Another catastrophe on a Westsail though...

Re: Interior Has Years of Teak Oil and Grime to Be Removed

I tried a "miracle eraser" on my teak. It instantly took off years of darkness, grime etc. Really lighted up the teak. Very cheap, no smell and not caustic. Don't know if it's good on the wood,...

Re: Convert Jabsco Y Valve, into a 3 Way

Peghal, Thanks for the in depth response. I really appreciate it. This is the factory placement for the vent loop and it's about 30" above the head intake. Also, the water vent height is the same...

Convert Jabsco Y Valve, into a 3 Way

I have a small cabinet that my vented loop, premium sanitation hose, seacock etc fits in. The tank is located forward from the cabinet, but this is where I have all the cool little valves.

Here...

Re: How to Unstick Frozen Mainsail Halyard?

Thanks for all of the awesome insight and responses. I spoke with a expert climber and he gave the foot loop method (they will be Prusik knots so I can adjust them) a go ahead. He said just as long...

Re: How to Unstick Frozen Mainsail Halyard?

Thanks for all the excellent replies. I think the guitar string sounds like a clever idea. On the foot loop, I think I simplified it and did not explain it well. Or maybe I did and it's just that...

Re: How to Unstick Frozen Mainsail Halyard?

Re: Inflatable Hypalon- For beach landings.

Thanks for the excellent replies. I think I'll use the hyaplon inflatable and go from there.

It might be light enough to just carry (davidoldjersey) and onto the beach. If that doesn't work,...
