Always surprised me how many people tow using a bit of old sheet. It does not float and seems an accident waiting to happen. This is especially so in charter boats in the med.

I agree that one should use a line to tie the end of the chain to a pad eye in the locker in case one ever needs to dump a fouled anchor in a hurry

On my 49 ft with inmast furling and cutter rig I have a jumper strut in lieu of running back stays. I love the staysail and never wished for running back...

I have a Spectra. Big plus is it is DC and not AC powered. It has two pumps. I run both when batteries are being charged, so either when motoring or generator is on. I run one pump when sailing....
