Actually 3/8" is what I had on my Wharram cat and it was just 3 ply. I used a non skid finish in the galley in epoxy but to get it clean one has to use a brush. In the other hull I just had epoxy... |

why not just patch hole with a small blob of epoxy and if gasket is deteriorating use a light grease coat as a release agent on all joining surfaces and replace with silicone--then trim excess |

you could borrow a remoteview video camera after drilling a hole for the view head and see whats under it. The crack sould be easy to fix using a small rotary tool to clean it up. |

Bruce Bingham in one of his earlier design books has a good howto on dinghy towing. one point was a reinforced 3 point bridle which in itself was a big improvement. |
