No not this one. Solid glass. Although seems a little light on the resin which by the way is pigmented blue to help with print thru into the blue gelcoat. Hmm i wonder if that pigment weakens the...

No roving yet but i did buy a roll of 24 ounce and plan to add some into the mix. Of course alternating layers with mat.

Sorry i cudnt figure out how to post the pics last nite. But ya it took like 4 days to get that much done. And remember that was in ice cold conditions. Fun fun fun. Already laid it up pretty heavy...

Im in cleveland. The boat is not an alberg. I sold that, bought a bayfield 32, and now i just bought a westsail 32 which i am keeping. A friend helped me pay for the westsail so im helping him fix...

Absolutly correct. Y wud sum1 ever respray good gelcoat? reason i asked is because i sanded the paint off my gelcoat with 60 grit on the one side. It may still be able to be saved i havent sanded...

So you cant respray an entire side of a boat with gelcoat? Seems a good way to go cuz its not nearly as toxic. I just started looking into gelcoating.

I wish i could quote the other guy too. Im willing to bet a dollar to a dime that if u were lucky enough to find laminating resin in stock at west marine that it would cost TWICE as much as epoxy. ...

Well sure under the water line is fine because u will be epoxy barriercoating. I dout west marine even sells unwaxed gelcoat. See i was planning on repainting cuz i thought the old gel was shot....

Boats are all made out of laminating resin. If u walk into a west marine you wont find a even a pint of it on thier shelf. Yet they are over flowing with west system epoxy. I just fixed many holes...

the biaxle had a piece of string holding it together which didnt do a very good job. i could have used it but it just seemed more of a pita to wet out and it would easily seperate

guess i was right in my thinking. 10ounce cloth is stronger than the same weight woven roving... great for making repairs which is great cuz now i can use epoxy with peace of mind
