Re: Universal 5424 with Hurth Transmission problem

I had the same problem, no forward power. Repair should cost €1200. But brandnew HBW15 was €1400. I decided for new. This was in 2008 in Holland.

Re: Intermittant problem with Icom M802

It is a familiar problem that the m802 suffers from internal corrosion at the flatcable connections. The m802 is not a real marine grade transmitter. It is a cheap constructed marine lookalike...

Re: Icom MA-500TR CLASS B AIS

The MOB1 works well with most DSC equipment but not all of them . Not every manufacturer reads the international regulations at the same way. :-(

Re: Icom MA-500TR CLASS B AIS

Til yet, none of the icom equipment gives an alarm at AIS plb 's or beacons. Only Standard Horizon Gx2200 does the job at this moment. We tested this in our workshop last week.

Re: Old Codan - Is It Worth Keeping ?

Codan 9xxx series SBB where for there time pretty sofisticated and good quality. About 150 watts. No reason to dump it. The interfacing with pactor has the difficulty from the connector. It was only...

Re: Winlink on ICOM M700

Is it the M700 or the M700-pro?
In my opinion is the 30+ years old M700 complete useless for Winlink or sailmail. It has only 16 fixed programmed frequencies, a complete dead end.
The M700-pro is a...
