Re: Where to meet single ladies also interested in the cruising lifestyle?

Yes, Dooglas, sharing a sailboat voyage involves every aspect of your personality and temperament. Some people have made it happen. There are so many opportunities to argue while on board, and not...

Re: American Buying a UK Boat

I bought a Catamaran that was registered in Europe. I made a BVI corporation was about $1500, registered the boat with that corporation. No vat tax, no U.S. registration. I am a US citizen and it is...

Re: La Vagabonde's crossing

Since they will be filming during the crossing, we will get to see some great video. The scarier the crossing is, the bigger the audience. If they did decide to do this based on the publicity they...

Re: La Vagabonde's crossing

Lenny has been walking for maybe a month. So this does make him a little more difficult to keep content I would think. They have put up gates and tethers.

Re: Rules of the Road for Swimming with Wild Dolphins

Re: Rules of the Road for Swimming with Wild Dolphins

In Hawaii, on the Big Island, there are some bays where the dolphins come in to play with humans. There are hundreds of them. They swim, jump, play and even bring their babies up to you. There is a...

Re: Buying in EU bring back to USA

I bought my Lagoon Cat from Europe. It was in Croatia. I set up a BVI corporation, so the boat was owned by that. I had a broker handle the money exchange.
I paid to have the boat brought to the...

Re: Why do people pay for somebody else's fun?

People are paying for my fun. I sell products that they buy and that pays me to have fun. And other life duties.
Also, a film maker person makes a film, you go to the theater to see it and pay...

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

Just not sure what that survey will look like. Seems a bit painful, perhaps. What exactly will we be searching for?

Re: Removing a bee hive from the mast

How about a lot of flypaper coils. They are really sticky and if there are enough of them all around the hive, the bees will all get stuck. Not sure you can find those where you are at. There are...

Re: What happens when you hit one of these?

I have been told that the boys who paddle up to your boat to collect your garbage for $5, are then disposing of it in the mangroves. They are not going to figure out how to find a proper place to...

Re: Nov - May Female Crew Key West to Belize to Bahamas

Of course women wear bikinis on a boat. I was just observing how that might make a woman feel like it is a high priority to him. And Yes, it is also a great opportunity for us women, if we know...

Re: Nov - May Female Crew Key West to Belize to Bahamas

From a woman's perspective, it does not sound like a dating proposition. But starting off by telling the reader they will be wearing a bikini gives your post a certain vibe. Being a woman on a boat...

Re: Note to self, always start dinghy engine before casting off.

My Dinghy engine quit while motoring around English harbor in Antigua. It would not re-start, despite desperate attempts, and we had plenty of gas. Wind was blowing hard, taking us rapidly toward the...

Re: It’s time to give back to the BVI

The magnitude of the loss is not just their homes and businesses, but the income from all the cruisers and tourists. All of the income on the islands just stops. So you lose everything, and lose your...

Re: St. Martin Charter Oct 7 - any updates?

It would be very likely, if you were able to find a boat to charter, that you will have virtually no choices for food or supplies since all the islands will be desperately trying to restock supplies....
