Re: Cross Trimarans

Has anyone seen a Cross 40R with a flush deck?

That appears to be what I will soon be looking at. The flush deck is a bit maddening because I am searching for a potential liveaboard and fast...

Re: How much is too much (anchor and chain)

I have a Cal 29, which is about 9,000-10,000 lbs. My primary anchor is a 33lb Rocna, which lets me sleep very well at night!

If you don't have a windlass, you can use any size and type of chain...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

MagentaWave- the exterior is white, and the paint does not look new. The owner said it had been painted about a year ago.

That is a fair assessment, but I see this as a positive thing. I'd get...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

This past Saturday (4/28/2018) I went and viewed the boat. There were some minor rot issues around the cockpit seat hatches that would have to be dealt with, but the main structure was in very nice...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

I will be looking at a Constant Camber 35 built of Cedar in 1998. The current owner is the son of the builder, and has removed the centerboard and trunk in favor of a 12" deep LAR keel. How difficult...

Re: Trimaran - Especially Searunner - Owners

Buy a pair of women's nylons and fill a leg with dessicant. Cut the leg off and tie it up somewhere. Very cheap "container".

Another use of the dessicant that has recently become popular is as a...

That is $24 after shipping for three pieces of flatware. How is that not expensive?

Re: 200nm/day - What's it Really Take???

40'-50' Proa could average 8.5 on autopilot pretty easily with 15 knot following winds. Would probably have to reef the sails or overload the boat to slow it down that much.

It might have sold faster, or for more, if he had brought it up to Tampa / St. Petersburg.

It is rare to find one of these that was so well-built initially, and then maintained properly, that rot...

Also, an unfinished project.

Three strikes that leave people looking for a...

Re: Perfect Bluewater Trimaran

If all you're specifying is bluewater capable, then size has almost nothing to do with it. All of the (Jim Brown designed) Searunners from 31' and larger have made numerous circumnavigations.
The...
