Just get it fixed, how bad can it be, it probably just stopped working and needs a few parts like brushes, bushes and a cleanup...if worse then take it to a specialist and get it rewound

The problem is that what do you want to tell echotec, then they will send you some parts maybe. One thing for sure is that it is not leaking seawater past the seals or you would taste this...

So use this to measures yours and check that it is the same.

The seal is not supposed to be removed without unit disassembly but i did it. Then do not use sealant on reinstall only rubber grease....

Did anyone ever do this?
From what I can make out it has 2 o rings and a shaft seal. I want to replace mine before it leaks inside. Afterwards I will coat the joins in sealant.

7000 views 150 posts and I guarantee not one forum member buys 18$ scib Toshiba LTOs and makes a battery based on these posts.

There is a lot more to it that just ordering 6 cells at $18 each.

sika 298 comes in brown and maybe another colour too.
If you want to stick teak to aluminium, this works very well and is what sika recommends.
Especially if the sika instructions are followed...

More than likely he doesn’t know someone using these LTO scib cells because there is something that makes them not as good as lifepo4, this is possibly that they do not work as well nominal voltage...
