Re: Not Sure What We Have....

No. We stopped really looking into it. Especially now that things got weird. I figured once our refit is done and we're ready for a Coast guard auxillary inspection, we could maybe dig again. I was...

Re: Newbie with a Trimaran

This whole situation has kind of slowed things down but I've started going back down there on weekends. The weather didn't help either. It's also been a pain to get paint and primer and my wife was...

Re: Fiberglass interior?

Correct. It is glassed outside and interior was bare. Well.....everything below the waterline was redone 3 years ago and there was some sort of clear sealer on that wood. The starboard side was...

Re: Fiberglass interior?

He suggested fiberglass for adding strength.

I have searched bilge paints for a little while and the stuff I did find was 100 different people with 100 different opinions on what brand and...

Fiberglass interior?

Would you glass the interior of a wooden trimaran?

We finally cleaned, removed most of the plumbing, most electrical, sanded, and are now ready for the next step. I was planning on using...

Re: Interior Paint?

We're already prepared with full face respirators. We hear Bilgekote is pretty nasty stuff!

Re: Interior Paint?

I like the look of satin finishes but is it harder to keep clean than a gloss?

Re: Interior Paint?

We've already purchased Interlux Bilgekote to do the bilge areas of the 3 hulls. We're just having a hard time justifying the price of it to do everything but the ceiling. We're told it will last a...

Interior Paint?

We're starting to think about what paint we want to use for the interior. Someone recommended using the BilgeKote all the way up but at $125/gallon(discount price), we think it's just too expensive...

Re: Not Sure What We Have....

The hull id and NET21 (as confirmed by training wheels) are both carved exactly the same way so we knew it had a purpose.... the coastguards weight rating makes sense.

Re: Not Sure What We Have....

So I ended up having to climb back behind the motor to pull out the old cable for the radar that someone might be interested in buying from me. When I was under there, I was able to find the hull id...

Re: Not Sure What We Have....

Oh ok. That makes sense. I'm going to see if the DMV has a record change of the name at some point but at this point I guess it's not a big deal. It is registered and insured the way it is.

Re: Not Sure What We Have....

So I pulled the Hull ID # from the pink slip and it's only a 6 digit number. Every search that I have found requires a 3 digit manufacturer code as well.....but I'm trying to find out the...

Re: Not Sure What We Have....

Hmmm interesting. I will pull the hull id and do a search.

I pulled off all the interior panels and the rest of the foam insulation. We wiped everything and are treating some mold that was under...

Re: Not Sure What We Have....

Yeah the dmv out here is a nightmare. The Autoclub is worth the tow service alone. Dmv services are worth the perk.

What does your friend have?

Not Sure What We Have....

So, the story of my jeep trade got even weirder! I went to register my new 39' trimaran at AAA and noticed that the make/model on the pink slip said "Earindil" which is what the previous owners told...

So Cal shipyards

I'm looking for a place that can pull my 39' trimaran.
It has a 23' beam which excludes all but 1 place in LA Harbor from what I understand. The previous owner had them do the boat 3 years ago but...

Re: Newbie with a Trimaran

Oh yeah! It has a Yanmar Diesel. It looks like a 4cyl to me but the guy had no idea what size it was. It fires right up and seems good. My only experience with diesels is the cummins in my 2nd gen...
