Re: AIS not visible on MarineTraffic app

Same thing here, it showed up right after I spent way too much time trying to figure out what was wrong. Just leave it on for a few days. On the bright side, I learned a lot about AIS and the...

Re: Hammocks cinched to roller reefing jib

I didn't like the idea of putting stress on the jib furling extrusion either, so I built something that looks like it is mounted on the jib but actually doesn't even touch it: I took a mini chain...

Re: Legal to padlock vessel to public landing

??? The Great Lakes aren’t a bathtub! I’ve seen several boats bigger than hers just last year. The Devos family is from Michigan, they have a few big boats. If you don’t believe it happened, just...

Re: US Coast Guard AIS data validation service

I’d rather do it right. You are assuming the installer knows what he is doing. From looking at the “pro” installs and data setup on the boats around me I can see that it’s easy to do a better job...

Re: US Coast Guard AIS data validation service

I am in the USA, you always have an option to set any unit up yourself. However some vendors only advertise a price that includes. You can always get a better price for the same unit somewhere else...

Re: Marine amp with Bluetooth capabilities on a cruiser

I bought a Fusion 750 a few years ago, looking for a good Bluetooth stereo. The Bluetooth range is only a couple feet. In fact I was sitting right next to the unit on the phone recently and...
