I didn't like the idea of putting stress on the jib furling extrusion either, so I built something that looks like it is mounted on the jib but actually doesn't even touch it: I took a mini chain... |

Betsy DeVos’ 163 ft boat was untied in 2018 by some kids. Crew was sleeping aboard. Only a few thousand dollars worth of damage. This happened in Ohio. A bike chain probably would have helped? |

Anybody consider a floating poly trip line with a loop on the end that you set to about 5’’ less than the depth? It doesn’t solve your “don’t anchor here” message but it won’t foul any propellers. ... |

I’d rather do it right. You are assuming the installer knows what he is doing. From looking at the “pro” installs and data setup on the boats around me I can see that it’s easy to do a better job... |

I am in the USA, you always have an option to set any unit up yourself. However some vendors only advertise a price that includes. You can always get a better price for the same unit somewhere else... |
