Re: Is running 1600BTU MarinAire on battery/solar possible?

Thank you for the real-world numbers/examples.

Without AC, what are some average daily temps you're living with inside? And what about at night?

Re: Is running 1600BTU MarinAire on battery/solar possible?

Absolutely. I need to do a lot more research and then get some real-world numbers before making any changes. Thanks for mathing it out for us.

Re: Is running 1600BTU MarinAire on battery/solar possible?

Appreciate the breakdown of it in this. We definitely will need a bit more solar and a bit less AC.

Re: Is running 1600BTU MarinAire on battery/solar possible?

Re: Is running 1600BTU MarinAire on battery/solar possible?

Yeah, that would be a lot of engine running.

We had planned to add more solar, to eventually get to around 1400watts. With the AC mostly being run when the sun is out and its hottest, it may not...

Re: Is running 1600BTU MarinAire on battery/solar possible?

Appreciate this skipmac. The batteries are lead acid. The plan is to upgrade, but we're doing research on the most cost-effective way on that.

How often are you running your AC often with that...

Re: Is running 1600BTU MarinAire on battery/solar possible?

We thought it may be possible with an EasyStart.

Would the 10.8 be around 120ah at 120v,...

Re: Loan recommendations?

Correct. We don't have much experience with any part of the process. We've been reading/researching for a few years and are just making the move now.

We were trying to find out if that survey was...

Question Loan recommendations?

I've been googling "boat loans", which results in a lot of places, but most are pretty low-budget looking.

Does anyone have anyone they worked with recently and would be willing to share the...

Question Order of steps when buying a boat?

We're pretty clueless on the order of things when purchasing, and have only made it to the looking at part. Now that we've narrowed it down to buying, we wanted to know what the steps were.

Below...

Re: Engine work from recent survey. How bad is it?

Great questions for me to find out.

Thank you everyone for the detailed replies.

The engine area is pretty cramped, and it's inside the cabin. How do they lift/pull the engine out to handle it?

Re: Engine work from recent survey. How bad is it?

Correct on 6LPA.

Lifting engine out sounds like a massive job. What does something like that with the cleanup run?

Yeah the engine went to 201f during the sea trial and triggered an over-temp...

Re: Working while liveaboard and filing taxes?

Tons of great info here. Thank you for taking the time to write it.

Do I need a physical address to officially live in Florida? or does a UPS store mailbox suffice for that?
